Morning everyone. Your Friendly Neighbourhood Previously Editor is here with updates from the world of entertainment and comics. It’s been quiet over the past couple of weeks, seeing as there’s genocide happening and people are watching it unfold on social media, much of it in real time.
Artist Cathy G Johnson has shared a way that people can help during these troubling times. Till November 3, you can participate in an online art auction, with all proceeds going to healthcare workers in Gaza. More details available here:

In 2022, cartoonist and game designer Bitter Karella started a Twitter thread examining the fall of webcomic Sinfest. Turns out, current Twitter owner Elon Musk must have been a fan (#sarcasm) because he’s shadowbanned Karella. That’s not the kind of power you’re supposed to be abusing when you own a social media platform. Deep sigh.
well, looks like I've been shadowbanned for making fun of sinfest. i had a good run. see ya space cowboy

Sad news for Friends fans, Matthew Perry has died at the age of just 54. The news was broken by TMZ and shared widely on socials, which gave me pause. We’ve seen celebrity death hoaxes before. But Warner Brothers released a statement sometime after confirming Perry’s passing, which was then shared by news outlets like Variety. We share our condolences with Perry’s family and loved ones.
Before I sign off, a reminder that there’s a ton of awful stuff happening in the world, but that doesn’t mean you need to consume it 24/7. Know what’s happening, yes, do what you can to support the people affected by ongoing conflicts around the world, but don’t keep scrolling through the endless news about the war. Be wary of misinformation, double-check the news you do read. But give your mind and your heart a break. It will do you and the people affected no good. That’s me signing off, until next time.
