Hi! I’m a person who has watched a lot of Charmed. In fact, I’ve watched all of Charmed. Charmed is not great; it’s barely even good in any way. But I watched it. I watched it all.
Rose McGowan was on Charmed. Do you know what Rose McGowan has done now? Rose McGowan has brought fierce joy to my life. Rose McGowan has directed a short film, and it’s good, really good, but that’s not even the best part. The best part is this:
“The slew of press that came out initially was all very favorable but it was mainly like, ‘We were so shocked that she could do this.’ Oh really? Were you? Why exactly were you? It’s rude, and really condescending, and frankly they probably wouldn’t do it to a male actor. Thing, after thing, after thing said that, ‘We really weren’t expecting this.’ Well no, stupid, of course you weren’t. I hadn’t done it.”

Is that an angel singing? Or a chorus of Valkyries? (Charmed did Valkyries. But they didn’t sing…)
Everything happens for a reason, and I now believe that I watched all of that Charmed because something—perhaps my Muse—or my guardian angel—or my whitelighter (you can’t PROVE I don’t have powers)—was whispering, letting me know, that someday I would need to feel the full battering bloody-toothed satisfaction of hearing Rose McGowan—Paige Matthews, from Charmed—tell the world it’s a lazy fretful piqueish sophist, because it underestimates women in the worst way.
As they say on Charmed: sisters three, blessed be, take me back to my virtual reality.
And speaking of virtual realities, let’s talk about Twitter. As you may have already seen (it’s being reported everywhere), Rose McGowan has also totally burned Adam Sandler! You guys!
Rose (of our hearts), speaking to E!:
“It was just so dumb. I was offended by the stupidity more than anything.
I was offended by the fact that went through so many people’s hands and nobody red flagged it.
This is normal to so many people. It was probably even a girl that had to type it up. It’s institutionally OK.”
It’s so institutionally OK that it’s already got her in trouble. What little trouble it can, for a woman who has identified and taken her moment. Long may it last.
