Previously on Comics: Short, But Not Sweet

Hello from your Friendly Neighbourhood Previously Editor! It’s May and summer is already here. Thanks for nothing, climate change. I’ve got a short round-up of the latest news in the world of pop culture.

Starting off with some sad news, unfortunately. Ray Chan, Marvel Studios art director and production designer, has died at the age of just 56. You can read about Chan’s work over at Hollywood Reporter. Our deepest condolences to Chan’s family and loved ones.

If you’re a Doctor Who fan, you may already know this but the owner of Doctor Who fansite, The Time Scales, posted an unhinged anti-LGBTQIA+ diatribe, especially against showrunner Russell T Davies. I’m not linking to it because nobody needs to see that. However, Mr Tardis on YouTube did do a breakdown video about the whole sordid affair, if you’re interested.

The Graphic Medicine International Collective (GMIC) has announced its 2024 awards shortlist. Take a look at the full list on their website, and add to your reading pile.

That’s it from me, folks! It’s getting hotter, so please try and stay hydrated as much as possible. And wear your sunscreen. See you, next time.
