Good morning, how are you? It’s a long weekend in the UK and I am very excited to have one less day of work/one more day of reading manga and playing video games this week.
Speaking of manga, Gege Akutami has announced that Jujitsu Kaisen only has five chapters remaining. The final chapter will be published on September 30th in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. As a reader of JJK this feels both extremely sudden and like it was a long time coming but I’m sure that whatever happens people will be able to respond in ways which are cool and normal.
Fans of The Acolyte will be sad to hear that the show will not be renewed for a second season. I have not watched it, I have just seen clips of a hot, wet Manny Jacinto on Instagram, so I can’t really pass judgment on whether or not this is deserved but hopefully there will be more opportunities for Jacinto to be hot and wet in the future.
Finally, in publishing news, former Boom! president Filip Sablik and former IDW editor in chief Jamie Rich have joined producer Eric Gitter at an as of yet unnamed comics publishing start-up. The company will publish horror, crime, science fiction, and fantasy with the intention of media adaptation. The company has not yet released any information on upcoming works or the creators they intend to collaborate with but their goal is to start releasing books in 2025.
That’s all for this week, friends. Catch up with you soon!
