This week we are once again sad to report another loss to our community, underground cartoonist Diane Noomin. Best known for her character DiDi Glitz and editing the Twisted Sisters anthology of women cartoonists, Noomin was a pioneer with a career spanning 6 decades.

We also said goodbye to Eric Jones, who passed unexpectedly in his sleep. Jones was the artist for the incredible Supergirl: Cosmic Adventures in the Eighth Grade, as well as a comics advocate.

Beyond this, this has been an unusually quiet week in comics, unless you consider old comics pros who can’t fulfill a Kickstarter showing their entire arses on Facebook news. Personally I don’t, but far be it from me to stand in your way if that’s what you’re into. Follow your bliss, etc.

There is non-comics news, of course. Big, death-of-the-figurehead-of-imperialism news in fact, but frankly I’ve had a tit’s full of it and unless its turns out she was writing a webcomic under a pseudonym I think we can all just go back to making jokes on Twitter.

Stay tuned this week for a report from Rose City Comic Con, a review of Tamsin Muir’s Nona The Ninth, and maybe a few other fun things as well. Till next time!
