Good morning! It’s a banner week this week, just tossing good news out left and right. Let’s dig in!
First, remember that Nimona movie that was going to happen, then got shelved? Well, it’s alive! Annapurna has reached a deal with Netflix, with a release aimed for 2023.
In other news, Ringo nominations are open!
Over at DC, it’s looking like Dreamer, the character created for CW’s Supergirl show, is making the official jump to DC comics, with her first appearance featuring none other than Nicole Maines, the very actress who played her, as a cowriter! That is…cool as hell. Cool as hell. As a side note, it’s really great to see DC making moves like this. With the canonization of Harley and Ivy’s relationship, Catwoman’s overt bisexuality in both comic book and movie appearances, and now this? I can’t remember the last time any publisher has made such strident moves toward inclusion.
Finally, on the indie front, are you looking for a place to publish your creator-owned work? Well, Mad Cave Studios is now accepting submissions! Their first offering will be Dan Panosian’s crime book, John Tiffany. You may, of course, remember Panosian from the time he got into a public altercation with our former EIC, Claire Napier. Well, Dan, good luck with the book, and here’s hoping you can withstand the criticism this time around. 😉
That’s all I got. Have you had enough water? You should probably drink some. Take care of yourself!
