Hello, hello, hello! Just a little one today.
The Olympics are over and it turns out that there are a lot more nerds into running and jumping than one might initially expect. I’m going to take this as evidence that I’m not the only person who was tricked into liking sports by sports anime and manga. If you need more proof, Crunchyroll has put together a pretty thorough list of every anime reference in the 2024 Olympics including runner Noah Lyles whipping out a Blue Eyes White Dragon Card on the track and Haikyu’s opening theme Fly High!! being played after the Japan vs Argentina Volleyball match (They don’t mention the cosplayers in the crowd but I saw you!).
D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event was held this weekend and in addition to a number of sequels, prequels, and soulless CGI remakes of animated classics some new entries into the MCU were announced. Marvel studios shared teasers, trailers and information from upcoming projects like Daredevil: Born Again, a continuation of the Netflix series, Captain America: Brave New World, the fourth installment in the franchise, Fantastic Four, Agatha All Along, and Ironheart. Marvel Animation also confirmed season two of X-Men ‘97, a third and final season of What if? And new shows Eyes of Wakanda, Marvel Zombies, and Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man.
Thats all for this week so take care friends, and I’ll catch up with you soon!
