Jinx’s Grim Fairy Tales to Arrive in August
The Archie horror imprint comes roaring back after going quiet over the winter and spring. Jinx’s Grim Fairy Tales is, like other recent Archie horror releases, an anthology one-shot featuring a set of stories each written and drawn by three different people. the central character this time out is Jinx Holliday, who spins a web of scary stories featuring herself to tame her young babysitting charges.
The issue will feature the writing talents of Magdalene Visaggio, James III, and Joe Corallo. The issue’s art and inks will be handled by Craig Cermak, Evan Stanley, and Eva Cabrera. Colors and letters will be done by Archie stalwarts Matt Herms and Jack Morelli, respectively. The issue’s mainline cover is by Vic Malhotra, with Francesco Francavilla providing a variant. You can see Malhotra’s process work on his Twitter.
You can see some exclusive concept art for the issue at the official Archie News website here. The issue will street on August 17.

Sugar Sugar of the Month
Archie And Friends: Summer Lovin’ #1
Tee Franklin (Writing); Bill Golliher (Cover); Matt Herms (Colors); Jack Morelli (Letters); Dan Parent (Art); Rosario “Tito” Peña (Cover); Bob Smith (Inks)
June 8, 2022
Archie and Friends: Summer Lovin’ offers the series a big old shot in the arm, bringing back a beloved and long-missing character to the fold (Harper Lodge, Vernonia’s cousin) and introducing a brand-new character in Eliza Han, a genius teen mogul who might give the Lodges a run for the money in the cash department. For those reasons alone the issue is worth buying. But Harper is always wonderful, and so is Eliza – and any story that lets Reggie be more than a pesky prankster and explores his romantic side is a delight.
Aside from this highlight, this new one-shot spotlights the Archieverse’s best summer adventures, making it the absolute creme de la creme of this month’s offerings.

Never turn down the opportunity to plump up your collection in an easy way. I love these era-centric jumbo collections, and they always tuck a new story into them to boot. For the 1970-centered collection, aside from collecting a primo selection of 1970s-era Archie content, this issue has a brand-new ’70s set story, “Watch and Roll,” which is all about Jughead teaching Archie how to boogie down at the roller disco!
Betty and Veronica: Beach Bash (TR)
Dan DeCarlo (Cover); Rosario “Tito” Peña (Cover); Various (Art and Writing)
June 22, 2022
Another summer-centric TR to tuck into a backpack or a beach bag as you head out for some summer antics. This one is all Betty and Veronica, all the time, and all summer-centered.

In a body horror story that’s second only to that time Archie’s head was turned into a jack o’lantern, Jughead starts feeling sympathy pain for a volleyball with his face painted on it gifted to him by Chuck, who’s opened a business drawing portraits on said balls. It’s not even October yet, Archie! Plus a bonus Bingo Wilkin (Cousin of Jughead) tale!
