Previously on Comics: Matters of Record

I don’t know about you but this week has felt so incredibly long. Luckily, it only produced about 4 minutes of pertinent comics news so you can slurp this up and then go back to worrying about real stuff.

First up, nominations!

This week DisCon III announced the finalists for the 2021 Hugo Awards. Information on voting will become available towards the end of April.

The inductees and nominees for the 2021 Eisner Hall of Fame were also announced. Winners will be made public in July at ComicCon @ Home

Secondly, a public shaming!

During an appearance on Kevin Smith’s Fatman Beyond podcast, writer Ed Brubaker spoke on his feelings regarding Marvel and Disney’s decidedly poor treatment of the creators responsible for their current crop of moneymaking IP’s and revealed that he gets paid more for his Winter Soldier cameo than from creating the character. Stingy bastards.

Anyway, that’s all from me. So be good and stay safe!

Raise your hand if you’re surprised by this. (onetwothreefourfivesix…) Ah of course; NONE of you.
