Good morning, it’s monday and the thing about comic books fans is that we are, for the most part, a bunch of detail orientated, pedantic nerds. This means that when you trace artwork and then try to pass it off as your own someone will notice. And by someone I mean everyone.
In unrelated news, artist Diego Galindo’s retailer exclusive variant cover for Transformers x Back To The Future has been released and any resemblance it may have to previous Transformers artworks produced when the license was owned by Dreamwave is purely coincidental.
We do like to see original work celebrated though and it’s good to see comics being repped at the Brand Impact Awards where design studio helloMuller Ltd won a bronze award in the publishing category for their re-brand of Marvel’s X-Men books.
In more heartbreaking news, comics publicist Melissa Meszaros (who had previously lost her job in the Lion Forge/Oni merger last year while dealing with medical costs from a traumatic brain injury) and partner Ren have launched a GoFundMe following the loss of their home in the Holiday Fam wildfire. If you are able please consider donating and helping them rebuild.
