Orlando Jones has broken his silence on why Mr. Nancy won’t be returning to American Gods: the season 3 show runner Charles “Chic” Eglee allegedly decided that Mr. Nancy was a bad character for “Black America.” Jones served as a screenwriter and consulting producer on a season 2 that ended without a showrunner at all, and he says he predominantly wrote not only his own character but other marginalized characters as well. He alleges the production company, Fremantle, went months without informing him about renewing his contract. [Variety]
