Hi all. A quick and short previously for you this week.
I don’t need to tell you this but this week has felt 100 years long following the US election results, and I am not even American. By now I’m sure you’ve heard enough about hope and the work that needs doing so I don’t know what I could possibly say that hasn’t already been communicated to you in a thousand ways across ten different platforms. We all know that stuff sucks right now. It sucks really hard and if nothing else, I wish I had some good news to share with you, something light to take the edge off, but I don’t, and I’m sorry.
This week it was reported that manga creator Kazuo Umezo, sometimes referred to as Kazuo Umezz, passed away at the age of 88. Umezo worked across multiple genres but was best known for horror manga such as The Drifting Classroom and Orochi. In addition to his work in manga, Umezo wrote songs based on his creations and released 2 albums. Tributes to Umezo have been left across social media and a tribute corner has been created in a book shop in Kichijoji, Tokyo where he lived and worked.
That’s all for this week. Be gentle with yourselves and I’ll catch you soon.
