Previously on Comics: It’s US Elections Week

Previously, On Comics banner

Good morning from your Friendly Neighbourhood Previously Editor. I’ll keep it short because this week, nobody’s going to be concentrating on anything but the US elections. I’m not even in the US and I’m feeling the tension.

Kicking off with elections-related news. A bunch of celebrities have endorsed Kamala Harris in the week before the election, including Beyoncé, former Republican governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Star Wars actor Harrison Ford, and Avengers actors Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Don Cheadle, Chris Evans, Danai Gurira and Paul Bettany. Donald Trump received an endorsement from former astronaut Buzz Aldrin. Sheesh.

In comics news, Metal Hurlant, a French science-fiction anthology is being relaunched, 50 years after it debuted. The new anthology will feature a host of popular names from comics including Brian Michael Bendis, Matt Fraction, James Stokoe, and Mark Waid. Read more about the Kickstarter over at The Wrap.

A comic book collection in Vermont is up for sale and it includes some rare items such as Superman’s debut in comics and one of only seven copies of Double Action Comics, reports the Vermont Public. While this may be exciting news for collectors, the late owner of the collection, Christine Farrell, had stated that she collected the comic books for reading and not resale. Unfortunately, since her death, the collection is being dismantled and the 500 rarest items are being sold.

That’s it from me, for now. Please do take care of yourself this week, especially if the US elections impact you. We’ll see you on the flipside.
