Good morning! It’s a big holiday weekend, which means a lot of jerks pushing the boundaries of what’s legal with explosives, to say nothing of what’s moral or ethical. Protect your pets! Consider some treats to help calm them or something, fireworks can be pretty scary for them. Anyway, on to comics news:
On the heels of success with four print volumes of Lore Olympus by Rachel Smythe, Penguin Random House has announced a new imprint, Inklore, dedicated to publishing manga, manhwa, and manhua, as well as Webtoons titles. It’s really exciting to see, and I hope this means good things in terms of rates for creators.
Here’s a delightful interview with ND Stevenson on the long journey to bring a Nimona adaptation to streaming audiences.
On the heels of their previously-announced Headshell imprint, Vault Comics have pulled together a deal with Skullcandy for some neat exclusive audio gear themed with Headshell’s comics output. I like the idea of comics-branded headphones and other such things, so I’m excited to see what comes out of this!
Anyway, that’s all I got. Take care of yourselves!
