The course of true love has never run smoothly for Ethel Muggs. Perpetually obsessed with Jughead Jones in most continuities, her devotion is rarely paid off as he dodges her embrace and anything resembling commitment.
But the times, they are a-changin’. In the brand-new story May I NOT Have this Dance? Ethel sets her sights not on Jughead, but on on the handsome Kai. She hopes that Kai will join her in a beachside danceathon, whose partners are determined randomly by the mobile ap Flip Flop. Unfortunately the unpredictability of the dance means that Ethel might not get her wish. Ironically, she could end up dancing with Jughead just when she doesn’t want to!

In the latter tale, Archie makes the mistake of trying to use jealousy as a tool in his relationship with Veronica.
