Good morning! Ya girl’s finished her second quarter of college, it’s the holiday season, and as always, there’s comics news!
Remember how many of us were telling folks that NFTs were a scam? Well, we were of course correct. Heidi has a great rundown over at The Beat. This is especially relevant because the tech industry is once again trying to steal from artists, in the form of Stable Diffusion-powered AI art platforms.
COMICS CREATORS: Are you struggling with being paid on time (or at all) for work you’ve done? If so, you can reach out to comicsjournaltips@gmail.com and share your story, on or off the record. TCJ is working on a story about this and every little bit of information helps! Among those companies named are Aftershock and Valiant, so you’re definitely not alone.
Finally, in a bit of pride, we’re happy to announce WWAC has been selected as a winner of the Lover of Comics Award in the 2o22 Laneha House Kinnard Awards! The Kinnard Awards are named in honor of queer comics artist Rupert Kinnard, and we’re incredibly honored to be named.
That’s everything I’ve got this week. Take care of yourselves!
