Good morning! I’ve only got a couple of announcements for you this week, but they are all good, so no stress.
First up is confirmation that Connor Hawke, the successor to Green Arrow will be coming out as asexual in the upcoming DC Pride anthology. This move from subtext to text is thanks to all asexual creative team Ted Brandt, Ro Stein, and Frank Cvetkovic, and will become canon in the eight-page story ‘Think of Me’. DC Pride 2022 will be released on May 31st. Here’s a thread by DC Editor Andrea Shea on the story beats that led to this watershed moment.
This week also saw Plucky Comics launch its official website. Plucky Comics is an activist-led company that aims to protect and reimagine black queer history through comics. They seek to educate and empower the black queer community to not only engage with their history but to tell their own stories.
