Behold! Betty and Veronica are set to embark on yet another video game-centric series of adventures with ‘ Betty and Veronica: Friends Forever: Game On! #1. And they aren’t alone — Sabrina Spellman is along with a brand new adventure that features her evil rival, Amber Nightstone. In the original tale Be Glitched, Amber zaps Sabrina, Veronica and Betty into a video game world while they’re at an arcade, forcing them to fight their way out. Above you’ve got a sneak peak of the Dan Parent-drawn main cover for the issue.
“I love working on stories with a ‘blast from the past,’ and nothing says that more than video arcades! In Ron’s fun story, the Gang lives through various video games of the past,” Dan Parent said in an exclusive statement for this release. “Bringing back last year’s witchy sensation Amber Nightstone to stir up the magic is a real treat! And speaking of treats, last year’s new Halloween power couple Trick and Treat are there, too! That’s a lot of bang for your buck in just one story!“ Said Be Glitched writer Ron Robbins.
“I’m so excited about this story! We learn that Amber Nightstone has basically bewitched Trick and Treat in a new attempt to take down Sabrina in front of all her Riverdale friends. Amber puts her plan in motion at the local arcade, setting Betty, Veronica, and Sabrina on a digital course for adventure. The gang’s all here as they race to the finish, determined to rescue Trick and Treat from the likes of Amber. It’s such a good time. I’m extremely tickled by Miss Grundy’s cameo, an idea I had during an especially grueling Peloton class. I just know Dan’s going to take the artwork to the highest level, and I can’t wait until everyone gets to see it!”
