Tammy and Jinty are two pioneering British comics for girls — originally published in the 1970s and 80s, they produced girl-centric stories as varied as Bella at the Bar (about a schoolgirl’s love of gymnastics) and The Land of No Tears (a glimpse of a future where emotions are forbidden). Following the success of the 2019 Tammy & Jinty Special (called a “nostalgic treat” by our own Doris V. Sutherland), Rebellion is publishing a new Tammy & Jinty Special this summer, and WWAC has an exclusive reveal of the cover by Marguerite Sauvage!
The 48-page Tammy & Jinty Special will contain two brand-new stories:
The first is a boarding school mystery written by Rachael Smith, with art by Yishan Li: Orphaned siblings Tabatha (‘Tabby’) and Richard live at a boarding school in Sussex. Tabby has started to notice odd things about her brother. Strange things happen whenever he gets excited or upset, things like items going flying or accidents occurring. Tabby is determined to find out more about her brother’s powers!
The second story is a reboot of the classic series Cat Girl written by Ramsey Hassan and drawn by Elkys Nova: As her Private Investigator father tries to solve the mystery of a thief targeting the city’s most wealthy, Cathy Carter attends the costume party of a popular YouTuber – and unwitting next victim. Events lead her to become the new Cat Girl!
The Tammy & Jinty Special will be out in July.
This is fabulous news and I look forward to getting this in the summer. However, Cat Girl first appeared in Sally comic then went over to Tammy when they merged. It’s a lovely cover!
Amazing news and love the cover!
