Stan Sakai’s Usagi Yojimbo has become an independent comic legend over its 30 years of publication, and now a new on-going will debut in May from Dark Horse.   This may be a good spot for new readers to get to know the titular character, a wandering samurai who just happens to also be a rabbit, and his always entertaining all-ages adventures.

Valiant Entertainment Editors Talk Publisher’s Past, Future

2015 is Valiant Entertainment’s 25th anniversary, and along with Image it’s the only big ’90s publisher to still have a significant presence in the modern market.  This interview is an interesting look at how it first started and the recent revival in the past few years, especially on how it’s working to create a singular universe for all its books.

After the runaway success of The Walking Dead on AMC, it was only a matter of time before Robert Kirkman’s new supernatural horror series Outcast got a TV adaptation.  Though only the first arc of this comic has hit the stands, Cinemax has greenlit a ten-issue series starring Patrick Fugit as a demon-possessed dude searching for answers.  Even more than Kirkman’s involvement, what gets me most excited about this is that the pilot was directed by Adam Wingard who did the underrated horror film You’re Next.  No air date has been announced yet, but expect it sooner rather than later.

Catie is a lawyer by day, comics fan by night (and during the lunch hour). Unsurprisingly, her idol is She-Hulk and can only wish that she could work a purple suit in the courtroom like Shulkie can. She's also into Stephanie Brown, because she has apparently an affinity for characters in purple.
