For this month’s Drink Your Comics, we decided to take our cue from Dark Horse. The company recently teamed with Rouge Ales to create a Hellboy inspired boozy beverage. The result: Right Hand of Doom Red Ale. Thus, I prompted our staff and contributors to create and/or share their own alcoholic concoction based on one of their favorite or least favorite comic book character. Reality-based restrictions need not apply.

Pour a shot of whatever liquor happens to be handiest or free. Shoot it like a pro. Repeat until the bottle is empty or the bar closes. Garnish with a good-natured brawl.

Gin, St. Germaine, topped with bubbly and a maraschino cherry. Served up (with a manicure!) and a cat on your lap.
Same base, sub St. Germaine and garnish for the following:
Venus: Cointreau and orange twist
Mars: Chambord and raspberry
Jupiter: Chartreuse and mint sprig
Mercury: Creme de Violette and blueberries

Well, I am just going to link back to my favorite Red Sonja inspired drink: my roommate’s Tarim’s Blood Mulled Wine because c’mon. Enjoy post-brawl with your barbarian pals.
–The Dr. Manhattan–
3 oz. Bombay Sapphire © ® ™ LLC GmbH Inc. .biz (or any other blue gin that’s not as expensive/fancy)
1 oz. sweet vermouth
5 dashes of bitters
1 orange twist, as garnish
Lastly, as you drink it you must spend your time pondering why in a universe as vast as our own whether Earth’s humanity should ever be saved from it’s single biggest threat: itself.
Or if you may, you can spend the remainder of your time drinking this beverage asking, “Who the hell thought it was a good idea to replace the whiskey with gin, whatever the the color is?”
