The first teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens just went online this morning. Here it is:
And now, a brief play about my trailer-watching experience this morning:
Me: I’ve had a hard time getting excited about new Star Wars. All the love kinda drained out of me during the prequels and I’ve long since moved on.
Trailer: Refreshingly old school Star Wars-iness, with at least one questionable fashion choice from a apparent villain.
Me: Hmm, well, at least it’s not all white dudes.
Trailer: MILLENNIUM FALCON
Me: [instantly bursts into tears]
So it looks like I’m onboard. And I’m glad, because Marvel’s three new Star Wars comics series are starting soon, all written by people whose work automatically gets a look from me:
Star Wars by Jason Aaron and John Cassaday (January 2015)
Star Wars: Darth Vader by Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larroca (February 2015)
Star Wars: Princess Leia by Mark Waid and Terry Dodson (March 2015)
So welcome back, Star Wars. We were BFFs for a long time, but drifted apart. I’m still a little leery, but I’m willing to give it another try.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens December 18, 2015.
Picture me yelling STAR WARS!! and running and sliding around the hard word floors of my house. Over and over again.
That has been my afternoon since watching the trailer.
I peed a little.
Way to overshare, Wendy.
This is approximately my reaction, too. MILLENIUM FALCON
I’m wearing mascara now, so I have to try not to discuss this in public today.
