We’re thrilled to present this exclusive first look at Archie Comics’ upcoming release Archie Jumbo Comics Digest #340!
Penny Parker has joined Ginger Snapp in resurfacing from Archie Comics’ deep archive. The vivacious junior detective got her start in the Blue Ribbon Comics line before being absorbed into the world of Archie. Penny has been revived as a tough customer who’s athletic as she is brainy. In her other appearance this month, she’s seen boxing and in Archie Jumbo Comics Digest #340, Ginger can barely keep up with her during a jog!
In the brand-new story, Penny Makes Sense, Archie seeks out Penny’s help for scholarly matters. Someone’s swiped his book report from the library! Leave it to Penny to solve the crime. But will she be able to find the culprit?
Below, you’ll find the first three pages of Penny Makes Sense, as well as the full story Inflation Vexation. In the latter tale, Archie pays mightily when he tries to save some cash by taking Veronica and Betty on cheaper dates. Penny Makes Sense features the writing talents and art of Dan Parent. Bob Smith provides the inks, Glenn Whitmore the colors, and Jack Morelli the lettering. Inflation Vexation features writing from George Gladir, pencils by Henry Lucey, inks by Chic Stone and letters by Bill Yoshida. Archie Jumbo Comics Digest #340 hits the stands on May 17.
