Archie Andrews has donned the cloak of justice in Archie is…Mr. Justice #2. The multi-POV comic series presents Archie as a new kid in town who must cope with being a normal teenager and fighting crime at the same time. He’s attracted to Veronica Lodge, who doesn’t know Archie is also her dad’s fiercest detractor. In these exclusive black and white preview images, we see Archie and Veronica talking outside of a Lodge Industries Construction site – only to be interrupted by an emergency. Veronica in a lab, Archie rescuing Veronica – what on earth might be going on in issue 2?
Let issue illustrator Brent Schoonover elaborate: “Veronica and her loyalty to her father and Lodge Industries was a really great dynamic to play with. We clearly see how Mr. Justice and his actions to push back on the Lodge agenda and disappoint her, but also motivate her to try and do what she thinks is best for Riverdale regardless of who stands in her way. Amanda did a great job of writing a really fun superhero story with intrigue and action. Drawing it was a blast!”
Amanda Deibert, meanwhile, had nothing but praise for Schoonover’s work: “Brent did gorgeous work illustrating the pivotal moments when Veronica first becomes Visionary, and even more importantly, has to decide if she wants to use her newfound powers to serve her own ambitions or help others.”
The comic also sports colors from Glenn Whitmore and letters from Jack Morelli. The main cover is by Reiko Murakami with variants by Jamal Igle and Matt Talbot.
