Cover For Archie Premium Event: The Cursed Library Unbound C October 2024 Archie Comics

Get a jump start on spooky season with these exclusive covers for the final chapter in the next Archie Premium Event.

Archie’s next Premium Event will start unfurling in August, but we’re fortunate enough to have a preview of the final cover of the final issue of The Cursed Library: Unbound. This is the latest part in the Chilling Adventures and Archie Horror-related Cursed Library series, which sees daughter of Satan Jinx Holiday and her best friend Danni Malloy cope with a whole host of supernatural shenanigans related to the titular cursed library and Madam Satan. And it’s arriving just in time for Archie’s Month of Mayhem, the company’s annual offering of Halloween comics.

In The Cursed Library series, Jinx, Danni and Madam Satan are coping with the aftermath of the events which took place in Madam Satan: Hell on Earth. Madam Satan has been trapped by Jinx in the titular cursed library. This has only strengthened Jinx’s powers, to the point where she begins to lose herself and her way to her father’s whims. Since Satan now wants Jinx to take over ruling hell for him, he couldn’t be more thrilled. Danni thinks the only way to save Jinx’s soul is to consort with Madam Satan and convince her to guide Danni on a Cook’s Tour of hell to rescue Jinx’s mother’s soul to talk her out of joining Old Scratch’s side.

By the time Issue 3 has rolled around, Jinx is officially in line to take over her father’s throne. Madam Satan and Danni must stop her, but will they get there in time?

“It’s Archie’s Month of Mayhem and we’re pulling out all the stops with the final group of covers for THE CURSED LIBRARY #3: UNBOUND. Interior artist Craig Cermak returns to deliver a truly striking composition teasing the fate of Jinx, Danni, and Madam Satan. Francesco Francavilla is a veteran of Archie’s horror worlds, and we’re so pleased to have him bring his own spin on our Cursed Library trio. Luana Vecchio showcases our heroines along with horror versions of Archie and Jughead (as they appeared in the 2021 anthology CHILLING ADVENTURES IN SORCERY) and Betty (as she appeared in the 2023 anthology CAMP PICKENS). Finally, we have a stunning variant inspired by the poster for the Italian film Kill, Baby, Kill by Suspiria Vilchez,” said Archie Comics art director Vincent Lovallo in an exclusive statement.

“When you’re telling an epic saga in just three issues, every single page, panel, line of dialogue, and, yes most definitely, cover, has to pack a punch. That doubly means that every cover on this final issue of the three-part series has to really make an impact; and the artists all made that possible. From our intrepid interior artist Craig Cermak, horror master Francesco Francavilla, and two of my personal favorite newer-to-Archie artists Luana Vecchio and Suspiria Vilchez, these four covers all showcase the collision of so many of our characters and horror entities, all amidst the blaze of hellfire. It stands to reason that a story this important is going to have a world-changing conclusion, and these covers all (without spoilers!) showcase that perfectly,” concurred Jamie L. Rotante, Archie’s Senior Director of Editorial.

We’re proud to exclusively debut the issue’s main cover, drawn by Craig Cermak, and three variants by Francesco Francavilla, Luana Vecchio and Suspiria Vilchez. They can be viewed below:

Archie Premium Event: The Cursed Library: Unbound #3 features writing from Eliot Rahal and Magdalene Visaggio, art by Cermak, colors by Matt Herms and letters by Jack Morelli. The issue streets on October 30.
