Hello, my name is Jenna Ledford. If you are a long-time reader of WWAC, you may know me by my other name Ginnis Tonik. As Ginnis, I was the Lifestyle Editor from 2014 to 2017. I worked with the editorial team and our writers to develop and write content related to fashion, food, home, health, and DIY while maintaining the WWAC brand. Additionally, I wrote and contributed to over 200 articles for the site, and this past week, I returned to WWAC as the Interim Editor-in-Chief.
After almost seven years, I am delighted to return to WWAC as the Interim EIC, taking over Nola Pfau’s duties while she is on a leave of absence. I love supporting writers in developing their ideas and how to write “on-brand” while also preserving their authentic writerly voice. Further, WWAC’s commitment to an intersectionally feminist take on comics, comic book culture, and the comics industry is forever aligned with my own passions and commitments. Watching WWAC win not just one, but three Eisners, as well as being archived by the Library of Congress, has brought me immense joy even while not directly involved, and now I have the opportunity to be directly involved again in a larger capacity.
Because in addition to editorial duties, I will be collaborating and supporting our publisher Kate Tanski with moving forward her vision for the WWAC site and brand: such as becoming a non-profit organization, revitalizing our newsletter, and re-engaging with our supporters via Patreon. In the time since I left, I have developed knowledge and experience in organizational development and business strategy that I will be applying to WWAC; as well as picking up the things that need to be done when you are a small organization with a big vision.
Perhaps it goes without saying – but we wouldn’t be where we are without our readers and fans. We are excited to continue this journey with you. Let’s go forth and prosper, WWAC family!
