What’s the best way to beat the heat? Why, by staying inside and going to the movies – or reading an Archie comic.  Thanks to Archie and Friends: Hot Summer Movies #1, you can do both!

This collection of movie-related Archie tales features a new story called Riverdale Jones and the Burger of Destiny. Yep, as you might have guessed it, it’s a parody of the Indiana Jones films, with the title referencing the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. It features Jughead as a burgerologist journeying with Hot Dog into the deepest of jungles to find the recipe for the ultimate burger. Hopefully, they won’t be flattened by stray, rogue meatballs or a particularly punchy Ethel Muggs. This tale features art by Bill Galvan with inks by Ben Galvan, writing by Adrian Ropp, colors by Glenn Whitmore and letters by Jack Morelli.

“I knew that working with Bill Galvan on a great fantasy story would be a blast! His passion for Jughead and Indiana Jones made writing the tale so much fun. I would have made it a six-part epic if given the chance!” Ropp told us.

“I’ve been an Indy fan since I first saw Raiders of the Lost Ark back in 1981! And as soon as I heard there was going to be a new movie, I started pitching a cover and story featuring everyone’s other favorite hat wearing adventurer: Riverdale Jones (aka Jughead)!”  Bill Galvan added.

Archie and Friends: Hot Summer Movies #1 streets on June 7.
