You’ve travelled with Archie Andrews back to the groovy ’60s, you’ve gone with him all the way to the neon-bright ’90s. Now journey with him 20(!!) years into the past, back to 2000, in Archie Milestones Jumbo Comics Digest #16: Best of the 2000s.
This time out, the issue’s exclusive story is Movie Melee, in which Archie and the gang find themselves beholden to Netfli — I mean a Netfilms, a mail order DVD service that Archie subscribed to in order to keep the gang entertained during a cabin vacation. But Archie keeps getting DVDs months after the summer has passed by, leaving him to figure out what’s gone wrong.
We have a two-page exclusive preview of Movie Melee as well as I’ve Got Your Number, a full story in which Betty’s pop gifts her with her very first cell phone – which bears a number awfully close to Veronica’s.
I’ve Got Your Number sports a script by Kathleen Webb, with pencils by Stan Goldberg, inks by Bob Smith, Lettering by Bill Yoshida, and colors by Barry Grossman. Movie Melee sports a story and art by Dan Parent, inks by Smith, Glenn Whitmore’s color work, and lettering by Jack Morelli.
Archie Milestones Jumbo Comics Digest #16: Best of the 200s streets on August 24.
