Betty Cooper and Veronica Lodge have been the best of frenemies since the 1940s. In Betty and Veronica Friends Forever: Power-Ups #1, our heroines take a step into virtual reality in a brand-new story. The tale, written by Tania Del Rio, sees Betty and Veronica suit up and enter The Riververse. The Riververse is an online game that can be accessed with an Ocular sort of virtual reality device, similar to Fortnite — and it turns out Jughead is trapped there without help. Will the girls be up to the task of trying to save their burger-loving compadre? The story, entitled “Riververse Rescue,” also sports pencils by Bill Galvan, with inks by Ben Galvan, colors by Glenn Whitmore, and letters by Jack Morelli.
We also offer the story “Game Plan” in its entirety, courtesy of Archie Comics. In this tale, Archie is tasked with delivering packages at his job with the Grindstone Corporation. He’s more interested in playing a hand-held video game. Will his skills pay off? The tale was written by Angelo DeCesare, with pencils by Bill Galvan, inks by Bob Smith, colors by Glenn Whitmore, and letters by Jack Morelli.
You can catch both stories out in meatspace when Betty and Veronica Friends Forever: Power-Ups #1 hits newsstands on March 9. Until then, keep reading to see an exclusive preview of Riververse Rescue and Game Plan!
