Howdy, gaming lovelies! Hopefully, during the mad rush to the holidays you’re still finding time to enjoy a bit of gaming. At the very least, treat yourself to a warming beverage of your choice and take a gander at this week’s gaming news.
We have a date! Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex – First Assault Online goes to Steam Early Access next Monday December 14. In this first person shooter game, players members of Section 9 and can upgrade and augment themselves into walking weapons. The licensed game includes characters from the Stand Alone Complex anime, including Major Motoko Kusanagi. The game has a great cyberpunk look, but their Steam page only offers a glimpse at gameplay via the trailer. Here’s hoping it can live up to glory of the anime.
Founded by Dr. Erik Geslin the new awards designed to recognize game companies and industry professional on the quality of the emotions produced their video games. Submissions open for review on Friday December 11 with awards announced in February 2016.
In its largest year yet, the fourth annual GCON just wrapped up. The game convention came to life after female gamers were barred from an all-male convention back in 2011. The convention, which partnered with Playstation and Huawei, included gaming consoles, tournaments and of course, a touch of cosplay.
Ok, so finally makes it seem like I’ve been waiting for years, but the newest installation in the mobile puzzle game was released for iOS in early November, so I think it’s ok to be a little plussed that I have to wait until January 11. Outside of some first week bugs, the game has a stellar rating in the Apple iTunes store.
