Happy Friday, crusaders! Did you miss me last week? There, there, I’m back now. Save those tears, because you’ll need them when you watch this video:
Remember Batkid (aka mild-mannered Miles Scott), the five-year-old boy who fought leukemia and crime to save San Francisco Gotham City from evil? Of course you do. We all do, because that moment has been etched on our hearts forever.
Well, now you can relive that day over and over again, through the documentary Batkid Begins, “a documentary that takes you back to November 15th, 2013, the day San Francisco turned into Gotham City, and the day the internet was nice.” The documentary will hit select theatres June 26th, and be followed by a live-action movie featuring Julia Roberts, who will (hopefully) be playing someone other than Miles.
Something to not watch: the CBS Supergirl pilot, that may or may not have been leaked by CBS itself, considering the quality. Or watch it. I won’t tell you what to do.
We know the n52 line is — partially — ending, but what’s popping up in its place? Apparently, “something for everyone,” in the form of DC YOU, DC’s promise in comic book form to showcase diversity both in the real and fictional worlds:
“With the New DC Universe, there’s a story for every kind of DC Comics fan. There’s a story for YOU,” stated Amit Desai, senior vice president of marketing and global franchise management, DC Entertainment. “The DC Comics slate rolling out this summer truly offers a comic book for everyone and our new advertising campaign – DC YOU – celebrates this bold, new direction.”
There’s been some skeptical backlash on the plan, but I like it. So what’s my story, DC?
Actually, it’s probably this DC Bombshells ongoing title, which feels tailored right to my interests, although I will be deeply disappointed if their pin-up worthy revisit to WW Deuce doesn’t include my own personal favorite, Lady Blackhawk. #BringBackZinda
Also, DC is having a dust-up with Rihanna over the trademark to “Robyn,” which…seems about right for DC.
