Ava’s Demon is an ongoing science fiction and fantasy, multimedia webcomic about a girl named Ava and the demon haunting her.
Creator Michelle Czajkowski Ava’s Demon Book Two Kickstarter campaign aims to print the first ever copies of Book Two but also reprint copies of Book One for folks who missed it.
I was drawn to Ava’s Demon due to its beautiful fantasy art that has a dream-like quality. The webcomic produces a unique experience with a single panel set in a book to emulate reading a heavy tome. Each panel contains limited or no text, allowing the art to speak for itself. The book project translates this experience to paper, with hardcover, 400 page books, which only display two panels per page.
Another interesting twist is that if the campaign hits it’s final stretch goal of $250,000, the creator will team with Studio Yotta to create a 2-minute animation (similar to the Kickstarter video.)
Backer reward levels start at $1 for the artist’s undying gratitude up to $10, 000 level with backer levels in between that allow you to pick up both Book One and Book Two.
