A Less Stressful Writing Challenge: Flash Fiction Wednesday, May 4

Captain America - The First Avenger still

Writing fiction is hard work, but it’s helpful to build a habit. Marjorie Liu recently shared how during a crossroads time in her life, she woke up at 6 AM each day, wrote 3000 words, and at the end of a month she’d written her first novel. Flash Fiction Wednesday is a monthly writing challenge on the first Wednesday of every month. The goal is not only to remind yourself that you can write a short story, but to encourage writing fiction as a regular exercise.

Our May theme is: “You weren’t there when I needed you.” On May 4, share your flash fiction on this theme. Post your story on your own site or social media, tag it #FlashFicWed, and link to it in the comments here. Happy writing!
