Women Write About Comics (WWAC) is an Eisner Award nominated comics criticism site, recently archived by the American Library of Congress. This is where readers come for diverse, interesting, critical, fun, and amusing content on comics and comics-adjacent transmedia, the industry and culture surrounding them, and a look into differing geeky lifestyles.

Through our reviews, reports on mainstream and local conventions, comic book-inspired recipes and crafts, features, and essays, our diverse group of intersectional, international feminists analyze and discuss all aspects of the comic book and related industries, providing vital perspectives on an industry that is too often presented through a limited lens.

WWAC spotlights the voices of marginalized genders across the spectrum; cis and trans women, and nonbinary folk and strives to provide a safer space to share their views about the industry. In a time when these voices and communities are still underserved by the industry as a whole, we believe that our work in amplifying them is crucial. We work  hard to press the issues that are often ignored or overlooked by the rest of the community, highlight fresh and interesting ways that fandoms engage with their favorite comic books, and deliver unflinching, well-thought out criticism from a variety of diverse voices.

We are passionate about comics and want to see the industry be everything it can and should be. Comics are for everyone and criticism is how every art form learns and evolves. We aren’t afraid to bang the drums as the platform that reminds readers, creators, and publishers of this.

We believe that WWAC plays an important role in comics industry discourse.

If you value what we do, then we ask for your support by contributing to our Patreon to help us keep doing it.
