Welcome to our biweekly roundtable of Twin Peaks where we are working our way through every. Single. Episode. Some of us are regulars and some of us newbies, but none of our experiences are the same. So get yourself a damn fine cup of coffee, watch along with us, and feel free to chime in on the comments section. Say anything you like, our log does not judge.

Episode 17: Wounds and Scars

Shots of a drink turning on a table are spliced in between scenes of Harry and Josie. There’s something sexy about a close-up on a stiff drink.

A young Heather Graham is cast as Norma’s sister, Annie, freshlannie, twin peaks, cbs, http://cdn.fansided.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/349/files/2015/02/annie-blackburn.jpg, heather grahamy released from a convent. This was one of her first roles.

Now we’re in business: the Log Lady is at the diner! Except we aren’t. Nothing interesting happens.

Windom’s exaggerated breathing reminds me of Frank Booth and his gas tank in Blue Velvet.

Tim Pinkle is Squiggy from Laverne and Shirley! (David L. Lander)

Is this the first time we’re shown Donna’s younger sisters? I completely forgot they exist.

Pete is intensely researching stalemates for the chess game. What would happen if they captured one of Windom’s pieces? Would he murder one of his allies? If that’s the case, they could take a pawn and knock Leo off. Kidding. Sort of.

Ed finally asked Nadine for a divorce. While most of the relationship storylines felt dragged out (i.e. James and the widow, James and Donna, Josie and Harry, etc.), this hesitancy to bring up divorce seems realistic. So many marriages go on years past when the couple should part ways, and this discussion guided by Dr. Jacoby felt authentic.

And, ohttp://tventhusiast.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/twinpeaks-nadinemike.jpg, twin peaks, nadine and mike, cbsh snap, Nadine and Mike are an item.

Catherine questions Ben’s sincerity at the benefit for the Little Pine Weasel, but he insists that he’s changed.

The weasel attacked Dick. That might be my favorite part of Season Two.

Episode 18: On the Wings of Love

Why does Jones go through all the work of drugging Hank, initiating sex (actually rape), and then try to murder him. She could have murdered him while he was passed out without any trouble. She didn’t even bother moving the gun he had on his night stand. That is some shoddy work.billy zane, john justice wheeler, bad sweater, twin peaks, cbs, https://norulesnoshame.files.wordpress.com/2011/06/screen-shot-2011-06-16-at-10-28-05-am.png

Burn that sweater, Billy Zane. It’s even tucked into his pants.

This episode was directed by Duwayne Dunham, who also directed Halloweentown and Little Giants.

In 1968, Windom was investigating UFOs. Was that research part of Project Blue Book? And is this when The X-Files was born?

Coop is reinstated to the FBI! And now he and Gordon are wearing matching outfits while they celebrate.

twin peaks, playing cards, cbs, http://welcometotwinpeaks.com/wp-content/uploads/saved-twin-peaks-playing-cards-785x524.jpgWindom has a lot of time on his hands. He made copies of photos of people around town, cut out the heads, and then pasted them on playing cards.

Ben is trying to make up for lost time with Eileen, similar to Ed and Norma, except Donna’s mom wants none of it. This show is crawling with high school sweethearts.

Romance is in the air at the Double R Diner, too. Agent Cooper is falling in love with Annie while Gordon flirts with Shelly.

Wow. Donna ratted her mom out to her dad like it was nothing. She was waiting on the steps and told him everything the minute he came home. What a jerk. She should’ve talked to her mom about it first.

When they get to Owl Cave, Andy tries to kill an owl with a pick axe. That is some screwball shit to reveal the petroglyph.

Annie is having a rum and tonic? I’ve honestly never heard of someone mixing dark rum with tonic. Vodka tonic, yes. Gin and tonic, for sure. Rum and tonic. I will try this and report how it went in the next Twin Peaks Log.
