In this inaugural double issue, you’ll find 44 pages of original comics, illustrations, and prose from 17 international creators. Learn about the power of silence, how a superhero finds her inner strength, the strength of goat women, and what it means for these creators’ voices to be heard.

Secrets of the Goat People will be published in both digital and physical zine form. With this in mind, illustrations and comics should be print ready and formatted for 6.25″ x 9.75″.
As referenced above, submissions are only open to women and non-binary people.
All illustrations should be submitted as TIFFs or JPEGs.
Preferred resolution is 350 dpi at size.
Bios should be included in the body of your email, be in third person and not exceed one paragraph.
Payment will be issued only after work is received and the editorial process is complete. You must submit a name and valid address. Payment will be sent via check or PayPal within ten business days of editorial completion.
We reserve exclusive rights for one year in Canada, the U.S., and the U.K. After one year, the work may be reprinted as long as attribution is given to Bleating Heart Press as the original publisher. Exceptions may be negotiated in writing.
When we have an open call, please submit your completed work via email to firstname.lastname@example.org with a short (1-2 sentence) third person bio. You may include your own website and/or one to two social media handles. Incomplete work or pitches for work will not be accepted at this time.
