In 2017, I attended 11 conventions. As you might expect, I love conventions! I attend all types of them – comic cons, pop culture conventions, gaming conventions, and fan-run conventions. I’m involved in all different aspects of cons, too — I’ve been as a writer, as a panelist, as a volunteer, as program staff, and as an exhibitor . I am a book lover. More than the stories, I love the actual physical object. I love the weight, the smell, the way the pages feel. When done thoughtfully, a book’s physical interpretation can enhance the story within. The same holds true for comics. Happy Wednesday, gaming lovelies! It’s a big week for gaming conventions.  For the first time ever, the annual tabletop extravaganza, Gen Con, is sold out. Also this weekend is the gaming track at the LGBTQ-friendly Flame Con; sounds like they’ve got the bases covered. Now, on to the news! Blizzard to launch a “global diversity and inclusion initiative” In a week of internal tech company emails, this one from Blizzard seems to have the most positive spin.
