The first page of Miu and the Tres Leches Bandit that I drew on Blue Line Comic Book Pro art boards around 2008. I was committed to black and white in my comic book because I felt that kids can be overwhelmed with color and design. I wanted something striking and simple, that provided ample room for imagination. It helps too that Miu could double as a coloring book, whenever I can afford to print it. I was very lucky my graphic designer Andi Counts was willing to work with this vision and help find the right color black, the right layouts, and the right fonts to make the color scheme engaging, and not too stark.
