Howdy, gaming lovelies! I’m back from my first convention of the year and chock full of gaming news. This week feels a little like with us, against us and a lot of WTF but that’s how you know you’re having a good news week. So grab a refreshing beverage and read on.

Prepare for heartbreak with That Dragon, Cancer.

It may be one of the most depressing game concepts ever, but you can’t deny the beauty of That Dragon, Cancer. Created as a loving memorial to the creators’ son, Joel, the game centers around losing a young child to terminal illness. Throughout the trailer, I kept wondering “How is this a game?” Pushing the limits of even a narrative game, I think it’s more of an experience, like Nina Freeman’s Freshman Year.  The game was released last week for Mac, PC, Ouya and Forge TV.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Vanilla Skys, a beautiful experience about humanity laced with why-the-hell-did-I-spend-two-hours-doing-that-uber-depressing-thing.

 

Mobile game encouraging players to kill Aboriginal characters

Ever wonder if those Change.org petitions make a difference? The answer is a resounding yes! Georgia Mantle of Sydney, Australia, took to the site after finding that the game Survival Island 3: Australia Story 3D encouraged players to fight and kill indigenous people. The petition garnered more than 90,000 and Apple, Google and Amazon took note removing the app from their stores.

Black Desert’s Character Creator available for free download

Black Desert Online announced that their super cool character creator tool made by Pearl Abyss is now available as a stand alone download. The creator is a fascinating The reveal was made in an announcement about the MMORGP (massive multi-player online role-playing game) Closed Beta 2, starting February 18.

Pixelated Panties

Honestly, I’ve never thought about trying to 8-bit my butt, but now I’m intrigued. Apparently, you can buy pixel design panties in colors like “Classic Pong White” or “Princess Peach Peach.” The site unfortunately features tall skinny models, but thankfully the product shop does not. Far from stopping at just panties, per their Twitter feed, the company is expanding to swimsuits this spring.
