Bring all the ants to your picnic blanket with the sweet crispness of the Pym Particle–and don’t worry, if everyone around you seems so much taller, it’s because you’re lying on the floor and can’t figure out how to be tall again.
When my less-comics-obsessed husband and I saw Ant-Man on Thursday, as Hank discussed the creation of his serum, Hubby leaned over to me and asked “is that like a Pimm’s Cup?” and I couldn’t help but giggle. But then I wondered…had anyone actually created this awesome elixir of dorkiness?
A quick google search after the movie said probably not.
So we decided to take the classic summer drink and make it a little more like Hank’s Red Shrink-Me Juice.
Pym Particle
Ingredients
(makes 2)
- 4 oz. Pimm’s No. 1
- 4 oz. San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa sparkling soda
- 2 oz. Grenadine
- Preferred number of maraschino cherries (I like LOTS)
- 1 orange
Directions
Fill a shaker with ice. Pour in Pimm’s, Grenadine, and soda in that order. Give it a little shake. Evenly split between two tall (potentially sciency-looking) glasses; leave the ice. Drop your preferred number of cherries in; they’ll slowly sink to the bottom. Garnish with orange slices and enjoy with someone who would help you save the world!
Here’s a warning: I like my drinks bittersweet, with a bit of kick–sort of like Scott Lang. So if you’re like me, pull up an Adirondack chair in your favorite summer evening spot and cool off with a Pym Particle.
Just don’t blame me if you’re suddenly surrounded by giant flying bugs that will follow your instructions.
Those do look sciencey!
