The DC Daily Planet: The New (DC)You
Happy Friday, everyone! I hope you all had quiet and productive or loud and action-packed weeks, whichever you most prefer. And how ’bout those new DC series? Have you picked up any of the first few new titles?
To sweeten the pot, DC is holding its largest digital sale ever, and will discount over a thousand books throughout the month of June. If you were waiting pick up a bunch of DC titles for less than a buck each, now is your time! Embrace it! Live it! Love it!
Of course, when a door opens, a window shuts (that’s how that goes, right?), and DC is pulling the plug on their multiplayer arena game Infinite Crisis, just two short months after it launched. No official reason was cited, so we can presumably feel free to make up wild rumors. Leave yours in the comments!
Cool stuff: French artist Ann Foucher turns pieces of drfitwood into DC and Star Wars characters. I like the faintly accusatory vibe of this Dynamic Duo:
Did you love Furious 7? Do you have even a passing interest in Aquaman? (Or, at least Jason Momoa as Aquaman?) Do you think combining the two into an unholy spectacle of awesome would be The Best Thing Ever? You’re in luck! James Wan, late of the most recent Furious, has closed a deal to direct WB’s upcoming Aquaman flick. If it doesn’t now include exploding helicopters, I’m going to feel betrayed.
And, finally, the most important piece of all: Stephen Amell and his salmon-ladder abs will be facing pro wrestler Stardust at the WWE’s Summerslam, where he will presumably wish he’d given himself a better stage name. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t genuinely thrilled about this.
How’s your day going, crusaders? Check in, and enjoy your weekend!
