We are currently seeking:
A talented, driven gamer who loves to write about gaming and webcomics. The new writer will work closely with Games Section editor Al Rosenberg to craft meaningful essays about gaming, game culture, and webcomics, all through a feminist view.
Al is particularly seeking someone who has a great column in mind for the Games Section, loves tabletop (board and card) gaming as much as console and PC, keeps up with several different webcomics, and is excited to interview game developers.
Qualifications:
- Strong writing ability (and knowledge of Chicago Manual of Style)
- Knowledge of the gaming community
- A desire to improve writing skills through constructive criticism and dialogue
- Feminist interested in examining race, class, ableism, gender, etc. in games and the gaming community
What we expect:
- You are great at responding to emails promptly
- You love gaming (preferably on multiple platforms)
- You’re a big webcomic fan
- You can commit to writing at least 1-2 articles a week

WWAC is an amazing forum for feminist examination of geek culture. As a Games Section writer you would be a part of a supportive community of writers who will help you develop your writing ability and build your portfolio.

- Areas of expertise and levels of expertise (what genre of games you play, what gaming sites you follow, whether you can help Al figure out how to use her Twitter better, etc.)
- Examples of your writing. This could be your Tumblr, writing samples, your blog, posts for other sites, etc. The more the merrier.
- What do you want to write about? Send at least three story ideas.
