In case you live under a rock, Marvel’s Princess Leia comic debuted this month. Now it might not come as a shock to you, but we here at Women Write About Comics are pretty into Star Wars. Our own Annie Bulloch has already reviewed Star Wars #1 and Darth Vadar #1 and is currently working on her review of Princess Leia #1. So this month we decided to celebrate with Star Wars inspired drinks. You also might want to keep these handy for when the new movies debut because based on last time that happened…booze might help soften the blow.

— Jennie Law
Yub Nub Mulled Punch
- fermented fruit juice
- an assortment of whole spices
- favorite bottle of hard liquor
After defeating your enemies, assemble as many friends as possible around a bonfire. Heat your favorite fermented fruit juice in a kettle, toss in whole spices, let simmer for as long as you can stand it. Add an entire bottle of your favorite hard liquor. Stir. Pour into mugs. Once sloshed, bust out the pipes and the drums and see what happens. Hug everyone you can. If you see ghostly blue visions of deceased loved ones, you know you’ve done it right (and the force might just be with you).
But if hanging out with Ewoks, beware as this might happen.
— Amanda Vail
Another comic that debuts this month, Jem & the Holograms, also has it’s own Drink Your Comics so you may be busy mixing cocktails and curling up with comics this month. But who would complain about that? Got any of your own suggestions to share? Comment below!
