Egmont USA’s Titles Find A Home With Lerner
The Lerner Publishing Group has acquired roughly 100 Egmont USA titles. The deal comes nearly one month after Egmont USA parent company Egmont Publishing decided to close its American unit after it failed to find a buyer for the division.
Lerner will publish these titles under its own imprints such as Carolrhoda Books, Carolrhoda Lab, Darby Creek, and Millbrook Press. Egmont USA will publish the rest of its 2015 title with Random House distributing them. If you’d like to see our past coverage of Egmont USA, check it out here and here. One of Egmont USA’s authors, Ilsa J. Bick, has written a guest post on the book blog, Icey Books, on getting the call. Give it a read.

Tor.com Gives Us The Titles of Their Upcoming Novellas & Short Stories
It’s the first year of Tor.com’s novellas and short stories program that features emerging and established writers. They’ll be releasing 3-4 titles a month starting in September 2015 and they’ll be available as ebooks, print on demand and audio books. You can check out these titles here.
Sounds exciting! Short stories/novellas are a great way to publish emerging writers who can then use that to help them publish bigger works like a book so this is fantastic.
LGBTQ Young Adult Imprint Is Being Launched
Interlude Press, founded in 2014 as a boutique publisher of LGBTQ romantic fiction, is launching Duet, a young adult fiction imprint representing LGBTQ characters. The imprint’s inaugural titles, both due in June, are The Rules of Ever After, a modern fantasy/fairy tale by Killian B. Brewer, and Summer Love, a collection of short stories by various authors examining LGBTQ characters’ discovery of both platonic and romantic love.
