The European Space Agency is, at this very moment, attempting to land the unmanned Philae probe on comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. Confirmation of the landing won’t reach us instantaneously, because spaaaaace, so we’re expecting it at about 11:15 AM ET. The Rosetta Mission marks the first time we’ve landed something, some human-made thing, on a comet. It’s a complicated procedure (if you’ve watched Chris Nolan’s science fiction opus Intersteller, you’ve got an inkling as to why) and an impressive mission. Spaaaaaace.

In the meantime, if you aren’t glued to a live feed, or the probe’s Twitter feed, you can glue yourself to XKCD for Randall’s Landing comics.
