Sunday Special Edition

Another news week has come and gone (too fast; did anyone else blink and miss most of the week?). Let’s see what the women of WWAC sniffed out for you to enjoy:

Ivy led us off on Monday with a breakdown of Marvel’s latest news. Hey, have you been thinking we’re leaning too much to one side of the Big Two? Me too. That’s why, starting this coming Friday, yours truly will be bringing you news from the DC side of the fence. We can’t let Marvel get all the love, even if they have given Storm a solo title.

We might have missed Indie Tuesday this week, but we did find this tidbit about indie publisher Black Hearted Press, and the WWAC reporters brought you other items of interest, including our coverage of the #YesAllWomen hashtag on Twitter. We took a look at the geek side of the hashtag, but there are plenty of stories there from all walks of life. And, in case you hadn’t been keeping track, we posted the list of nominees for the second annual Kids Comics Awards. There are a lot of good books there to check out!

Speaking of books, can we talk about the Kickstarter of the Week? I’ve had the theme song stuck in my head for five days straight.

Brenda broke down Wednesday’s gaming news, and Marvel snuck back onto the radar with the announcement that Charlie Cox has been cast as the Man Without Fear! Congrats, Charlie. You were dreamy in Stardust.

Rounding out the end of the week, we had Ardo’s Thursday Book Beat, headlined by the news that Fox 2000 has optioned Love Letters to the Dead. I am PSYCHED. Brenda told us all about how women destroy science fiction, and editor-in-chief Megan P. took a look back at this year’s Free Comic Book Day.

Did you know you could be in the new Star Wars movies? I didn’t. Who has $50,000 they can loan me so I can max out on entries?

Next week’s Special Edition will take the place of Friday’s round-up, but I hope you enjoyed Ivy’s look at links around the web on Friday afternoon. Does Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N not sound like basically the most awesome?
