“Most importantly—to fans anyway—the logo looked super-cool. After the panic over the hiring of Burton and Keaton, the introduction of Furst’s logo brought back some anticipatory excitement. The biggest worry among the maturing comics fans who loved Watchmen and The Dark Knight Returns was that the people making Batman didn’t “get” the property, and that they were going to make something overtly silly or slapdash. But that first poster didn’t look slapdash. It looked like Warner Bros. was spending some money on marketing, which meant the company probably thought it had a hit on its hands. It was a good sign.”

Nine Lost Doctor Who Episodes Found

Whovians rejoice! Nine episodes of Doctor Who, believed to be lost for 45 years, have been found and returned to the BBC. All nine episodes star Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor, and are from the serialized stories The Enemy of the World and The Web of Fear. The recovered episodes are available on iTunes, with DVD releases forthcoming.

Art from Defunct Snake Plissken Anime Revealed

Production art from Production I.G’s aborted Snake Plissken anime has surfaced online. Snake Plissken was played by Kurt Russell in John Carpenter’s cult action films Escape from New York and Escape From L.A. Sadly, it looks like we’ll never see Snake escape from Las Vegas.

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD Gets Full-Season Pick-Up

ABC has ordered a full season of 22 episodes for the Joss Whedon-helmed series, so keep your fingers crossed for more Samuel L. Jackson cameos.

Harrison Ford Has Talked to Ridley Scott About Blade Runner Sequel
